Hillside Preschool – Our Curriculum

3 year old class: The curriculum at this age includes identifying letters A-Z, shapes, colors, and numbers 1-10. This room practices tracing, writing their first name, and fine and gross motor skills. Our daily schedule also provides time for art, music, Jesus time, and science and social studies discovery through centers. The students learn to function in a classroom setting with skills such as taking turns, sharing, expressing themselves, etc.
Pre-K class: The curriculum at this age includes identifying and naming letters, shapes, colors, and numbers 1-20. They will learn to count to 30 and they will be challenged to read some basic sight words by the end of the school year. They will learn to pattern, sort, and identify opposites. Like the younger class, they will also trace, write their name (first and last), practice fine and gross motor skills, participate in music time and Jesus time, and discover science and social studies through themed center time.
